The young but experienced team here in the Worcester office have been very busy, not just selling houses and land, but raising money for various charitable causes too. The inaugural Knight Frank “Day of Giving” took place in October; with the Worcester office challenge to climb the five summits of landmark Hills within the Three Counties, between dawn and dusk. The day was a fantastic success, with the total amount raised by Knight Frank exceeding the £20,000 target, at over £103,000 with donations still coming in.

MEET THE TEAM
In the past year, we have seen 24 Lots of property and land go to auction. Some lots achieved well in excess of their price guides indicating how the heart can rule the head.
The highest proportion of sales has been below £1,000,000 and characteristically these sales have been for necessity reasons, be it relocation or serious life changing circumstances. The £2,000,000 plus bracket has seen the lowest number of sales, due to buyers looking carefully at a lifestyle change that can take them into one of many counties. There is a marked difference in the timescales of sale between these two bands, with the sub £1,000,000 bracket happening a lot more quickly.
After a strong 2013, confidence is up and the housing market remains firm. This gives a strong grounding to 2014 which will be a good year. We hope to see enough instructions coming forward to meet demand, and at the start of this year demand is exceeding supply in the county. Those sellers looking at next year need to promote their homes with the best marketing to the national buyers, and in particular those coming from the South East. Presenting them well with a carefully set guide price will ensure the best sale results are achieved.
The difference in values between Worcestershire and the South East is at a high. The penny is dropping!

The move to the country can also create new forms of income. Larger properties and more land open up the possibility to do anything from renting out holiday cottages to growing your own vegetables.
