Designed on PGCB OPGW Network running over high voltage transmission line.

Leased one pair of optical fiber from PGCB on IRU basis for 20 years (Since 2011).

Main target to reach public universities and create facilities for connecting private universities

Searching for a single service provider covering the targeted Institutions

No better option at all wrt to availability of PGCB PoP at the nearest location to University

So ultimate choice was PGCB fiber.

Virtual Class Room under Construction (Design)

Present Status of BdREN

Fiber Laying Optical Fiber Cable Laying Completed 39 links (Total Length =

283.3 Km) Cable Laying going on 3 Links (Total Length = 15.5 Km) Pending – 2 Links

Network Equipment Installation All Virtual Class Room completed and Equipments installed at

Sites within Dhaka Equipment installation ongoing at Main Data Center after

renovation; Renovation work at DR Center is ongoing. Installation of Passive Network (Renovation/Petty Works for

BdREN Internet PoP room at universities, Grounding, Power cabling etc) completed.

Equipment/goods cleared from ports and waiting for delivery

to the sites. Delivery is delaying due to security reasons.
