IT Career Credo for changing times
The only constant is change. Heraclitus a 500BC, Greek philosopher
Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and
leave a trail. Anonymous saying, commonly attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson
Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until
it is faced. James Baldwin
Leadership is understanding people and involving them to help you do a job. Admiral Arleigh Burke
We need to be the change we wish to see in the world. Mahatma Gandhi
The price of greatness is responsibility. Winston Churchill
If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It is much easier to apologize than it is to
get permission. Admiral Grace Hopper
Life is not fair; get used to it. Bill Gates
Eagles don't flock, you have to find them one at a time. Ross Perot
We herd sheep, we drive cattle, we lead people. Lead me, follow me, or get out
of my way. George S. Patton

Continuous self development is mandatory.
Technology certifications are of tactical value; process and management certifications
offer sustainable benefit.
IT Infrastructure & Operation opportunity will exist with technology service providers.
Collaboration & partnership will prevail...interoperability is paramount.
IT Systems Development opportunity will exist with the OEM, VAR’s and Service
companies. Requires knowledge of product development & delivery.
Corporate/Enterprise IT roles will predominately focus on technology sourcing, enterprise
architecture, business process improvement, technology integration and implementation.
IT leaders need to be Program/Project professionals.
Everything will be network centric as a service – in the “Cloud”
