During World war Second Swissair already was carrying around 14-16 passengers between Zurich and London.

The first Commercial Flight services were introduced by KLM-Dutch Airlines-1920 (b/w Amsterdam and London)

More Facilities were introduced and there was more comfort in travel.

Jet-Flights- were Inaugurated by Great Britain in the year 1952.

Jumbo Jets have revolutionized travel, A large number of people travel by air because of the speed, safety, comfort and economy in terms of time saved.

1976-AIRPORTs were build in London Heathrow airport.

Era of mass air travel started in modern days.(International Travel- Luxurious, time saving hassle free for business tourist with special offers FOOD, INTERNET ON BOARD etc).

Two types of airlines…

Scheduled and Chartered airlines…

Scheduled airlines: operate as per the regular schedules.

Chartered airlines or Non scheduled airlines operate only when there is demand.(Mainly during tourist season).

India receives more than 200 chartered flights especially Goa.

IATA & ICAO for airlines…

IATA has more than 105 major airlines of the world as its member.

Regulates the prices of tickets on different sectors of travel.

ICAO in the year 1945- Only government of a country can become a member for commercial airlines.

Classification of airlines…

Small Carriers-(less than 30 seats)

Larger Carriers-(Fly direct routes b/w major cities seat 100 to 800 passengers)

Singapore airlines airbus with double Decker(800 passengers/sin-syd)

Cargo flights existence.
