Do Now: Why do you think the stone age is called the stone age?

The Stone Age consisted of three time periods: 1.Paleolithic (or “Old Stone,” period from roughly) 2 million years ago to 8,500 BC2.Mesolithic (or “Middle Stone,” period from roughly) 8,500 to 8,000 BC3.Neolithic (or “New Stone,” period from roughly) 8,000 to 3,000 BC

Paleolithic Period -was a time period in which early humans developed the first stone tools and lived as hunter-gatherers.

Neolithic Period -was a time period in which early humans not only used stone tools, but also lived in one place and started farming.

-The Neolithic Revolution would completely change the world. The development of agriculture, or farming, changed many aspects of daily life.

After the Neolithic Revolution people: -lived in villages-grew crops by farming-had extra food ready to eat
