Customer Information: The information in thisinstallation instruction is intended for use only byskilled technicians who have the proper tools,equipment, and training to correctly and safely addequipment to your vehicle. These proceduresshould not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for theradio, then write down the frequencies for thepreset buttons.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the passenger’s dashboard under cover(four clips and two pins).

4. Remove the two bolts under the glove box. 7. Remove the inside cover from the front consolepocket (two tabs).
8. Lower the tilt lever, then pull the steering wheeltoward you.
9. To protect the dashboard area, put shop towelsover the steering wheel and shift lever.

10. Apply masking tape to the meter panel as shown,and remove the meter panel (one self-tappingscrew, 11 clips, and vehicle connectors).
11. Apply masking tape to the instrument panel asshown. Remove the center panel (two bolts, tenretaining clips, vehicle connectors, and aspiratorhose).

13. Push the clip into the vehicle side by striking thetop of the right front pillar trim in the part markedSIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG with the rubber mallet.Remove the clip.

14. Remove the weatherstrip in the area shown. Thenremove the right front pillar trim (two clips).
4-Door:
16. Remove the right sunvisor (two T25 TORXscrews, and unplug the vehicle connector).
17. Remove the sunvisor holder. Turn the holder 90°,then pull it out.
18. Remove the right front door sill trim (three tabs,five clips, and five hooks).

21. Using isopropyl alchohol on a shop towel, cleanthe area shown where the rubber pad will attach.Attach the rubber pad to the vehicle panel.
22. 2-Door only: While wearing eye protection, drillthrough the dimple on the vehicle panel with a 3mm drill bit and then finish with an 8 mm drill bit.Use a drill stop to avoid drilling through the innerpanel.

Installing the XM Radio Unit
20. Using four pan screws and four washers, securethe bracket to the XM radio unit.
19. Remove the weatherstrip, then remove the rightkick panel (two clips).

23. Using one flange bolt, one turn nut, and onewasher-screw, secure the XM radio unit andbracket to the vehicle stay and to the vehiclepanel.

Routing the Antenna Cable
24. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean theright front upper corner on the inside of thewindshield.
25. Remove the adhesive backings from the antenna,and attach the antenna to the windshield at thelocation shown. Install the antenna by applyingsufficient pressure.

26. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean thearea shown on the outside of the windshield.
27. Remove the adhesive backing from the cover sealand attach it to the outside of the windshield in thelocation shown.
28. Route the antenna cable down along thepassenger’s A-pillar. Using six cushion tapes,secure the antenna cable to the A-pillar panel inthe areas shown.

30. Using scissors, cut one EPT sealer in half.
31. Using isopropyl alchohol on a shop towel, cleanthe area where the EPT sealer will attach. Attachone cut piece of EPT sealer to the vehicle bracketas shown.
32. Plug the antenna cable 1-pin connector and thebus cable 14-pin connector into the XM radio unit.

33. Attach the other cut piece of EPT sealer to theantenna cable as shown.
34. Using two wire ties with clips, secure the antennacable and the bus cable to the bracket holes asshown.
35. Using one wire tie, secure the bus and antennacables to the vehicle harness in the area shown.
36. Route the bus cable up along the antenna cable.Using two wire ties, secure the bus and antennacables to the vehicle harness.

37. In the glove box opening, route the bus cablealong the vehicle harness and towards the audiounit opening.
38. Using two wire ties, secure the bus cable to thevehicle harness.

40. Plug the Y-harness adapter connectors into thetwo bus cables.

43. Connect the vehicle connectors to the centerpanel, and reinstall the center panel.
44. Replace the old clip on the right front pillar trimwith the new clip included in the kit.

45. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properlyand all connectors are plugged in.
46. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
47. Enter the customer’s radio anti-theft code, andreset the radio station presets.
48. Set the clock.
49. Check the operation of the XM radio systemaccording to the vehicle’s Owner’s Manual.
50. Reinstall all removed parts.
