What Does “AP” Mean? AP Exams administered in May worldwide AP Exams created and scored by College Board Exams are scored on a scale of 1-5 (5 is the best) Possible credit or advancement at most colleges

What Courses are Offered? year since 2011

Why Have the Numbers Increased? ◦Moved from electives to core areas ◦Vertical alignment – logical course sequence ◦Removed the glass ceiling ◦All high school teachers understand the progression and skills needed ◦Boot camp in the summer ◦10th grade courses lead to success in later years

Doing Well – the number of exams with a score of “3” or higher has

increased.

high, but dropped this year

What Are AP Scholars? AP Scholar: Students with scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP

Exams AP Scholar with Honor: Students with an average score of at least 3.25 on

all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams

AP Scholar with Distinction: Students with an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams

National AP Scholar: Students with an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams

Equity & Excellence Rate (EER) Number of students with a score of 3 on at least one exam
