-ING adjectives are used to describe things, people, places, activities.

This a an INTERESTING girl. (These are the sources of the feelings)

Feeling/OpinionI am/I feel interest-ED in….

- learning English - Politics- The President - a beautiful girl- The Lord of the Rings - your class

-ED adjectives are used to talk about a person’s feelings or opinions.

She is INTERESTED IN his money.(These are the receivers of feelings)

-ED adjectives are also usually followed by small prepositions like in, with, of, about or by.

Eg: • I’m really excited about my vacation.• I’m annoyed with a friend of mine. He never

returns my phone calls.

I am interested vs. I am interesting

The first one means I like it, I want to hear about it.

The second one means that I am being described as

something people find interesting.
