Activity Report 2011/12
AMIR’S MESSAGE
BISMILLAHI RAHMANI RAHEEM
Dear brothers and sisters in IslamAssalamu Aleikum,
It gives me great pleasure to present our activity report for the year 2011/2012.
We have by the grace of Allah and your generous partnership, Alhamdulillah managed to achieve our targets and pray that we complete the remaining projects in due course.
We, focusing on our vision, “Eradication of poverty through Education”, have continually strived to empower and uplift the Muslim youth, and as the hadith of our holy prophet (PBUH) says” “Attainment of knowledge is a must for all Muslims”, we at MDO put a lot more emphasis on developing the Alfurqan Training Institute at Maili tisa.
Further to our appeal for funds to construct the teachers’ residences and your positive response, I am pleased to report that we have completed construction of six units and will embark on the balance four units as soon as funds become available.
We have this year earmarked other projects at the institute which will be highlighted in the Alfurqan report.
I sincerely thank you for your partnership and guidance and look forward to continue with our combined efforts to uplift the status of the Muslim ummah.
Finally, the blessed holy month of Ramadhan will be with us soon and I urge you all to strive to maximize your ibadah during this period and seek Allah’s forgiveness and pray for the Muslim ummah at large.
I wish you all “Ramadhan Mubarak”.
Wasallam

NEW INTAKE
This year the institute admitted 52 students raising the number of students to over a 170, the highest ever in the institute’s history whereby we had more than 15 students with over 300 marks in their KCPE examination. Alhamdulillah the demand for places has also increased and we had to turn down a number of students. The reason that the demand has improved is because of the caliber of our former students and the impact they are portraying wherever they reside or work as Imams/dais and more parents want their sons to emulate them.
