What makes a good event?
Good events vs bad events – your experience as an audience member
In pairs discuss good and bad events that you have been to and why they were positive or negative experiences
What makes a good event?
The key factors for successful events can be grouped using the – P.E.E.L. principle:
PEOPLE – who was involved and how well the team behind the event worked together
EMOTION – how the event stimulates the senses – makes people feel
ENGAGEMENT – how to connect with the audience LEGACY– the long term benefits (for all stakeholders)
Things to consider
Choice of activity Childcare arrangements Timing Pre-registration Local champions PR / Marketing
Vision for your StreetGames Festival
Group activity – Think of an event you would like to organise. In small groups, DISCUSS and MAKE NOTES regarding the important details have you picked out from the previous discussion which might influence your planning?
Group activity – If there were no limitations (i.e. time, space, budget etc.) what events would you love to do?
