Signing Up

You will need to sign up if you wish to be an ‘active’ member of Youtube

Go to www.youtube.com

Click on ‘Create Account’

Signing Up

Follow the prompts on the current page

Search for an available user name

Click on ‘I Accept’

How To Watch A Video

After creating your account, you are free to share and view any video that is available on the website

Simply click on the text box that is located at the top of the web page

Type in a keyword or video name

Select ‘search’ (or press ‘enter’)

Watching The Video

Your browser will need a flash player plug-in to watch videos

This flash feature will allow you to scrub, play and pause the videos

You can even click an icon to go ‘full-screen’

Commenting

Youtube members are permitted to comment and discuss a video

Discussion is carried out directly underneath the video

Click on the text box and type your discussion

Press ‘enter’ to post comment

Uploading Videos

Click on ‘Upload’, it is located directly next to the search box

Proceed to the next page

Uploading (continued)

After proceeding to the next page, click on ‘upload video’ again

A new window will pop up, which will allow you to browse and select from your hard drive, the video you wish to upload

Video Subscriptions

A Youtube member is allowed to ‘subscribe’ to any other user

The user will be notified of any new uploads from the subscription

Go to a video and click on ‘subscribe’ – It’s as easy as that!

Youtube Channel

Youtube users are allocated a page dedicated for their username – these pages are called ‘Youtube Channels’

They are able to customize the aesthetics of their ‘Youtube Channel’

Click on ‘edit’ and customize your web page to what ever sees you fit
