IntroductionProject Scenario:
A historical society has purchased an 18th century farmhouse on ten acres of land that was designed, built, and owned by a former United States President. The structure has undergone many renovations; some were well done and others were not. The structure is deteriorating quickly and may be lost if some action is not taken.
SolutionWe have decided to convert the 10 acre property and farmhouse into a museum and park area. To fix deterioration problems with the farmhouse, we have decided to fumigate and reinforce the building and infrastructure.
Location- Land is owned by city- Mainly flat grasslands with some trees and a pond- Located in South Greenfield, Dade County, Missouri

- Main goal (aside from stopping deterioration is to cosmetically restore the house to original condition for visitors

on the farm that used to be on the property
- Could prove to be a popular semi-educational destination for elementary school field trips, summer caps, etc.

- We would like to see it become an official city park
- Trees will be relocated to this area and water fountains/benches will be added
- Will be built around existing pond which will be maintained as is
Conclusion ● Why is it important to recognize challenges and barriers during the charrette and then identify
solutions?It is important to recognize the challenges and barriers during the charrette because then the entire group as whole can go through each problem and come to a conclusion to resolve the problem as one whole, that everyone agrees to.
● Among the ideas or thoughts that you prepared for the charrette, were there any that were disregarded by the group? Why? Do you think it was the right decision?
Recreating farmhouse to a new house, but we disregarded that because we wanted to make it into a museum, where its historical and original interior could be seen by all, and we think it was the right idea because turning it into a museum can raise money for the city,and server community and historic purposes creating a park and petting zoos there, and preserving a historic area as such.
Conclusion (cont.)● What is the value of using a charrette to investigate the feasibility and development of a
building project? Describe specific advantages over a traditional approach in which the client meets with an architect and the architect develops the plan.
The value in using a charrette to investigate the feasibility and development of a building projectis having the implication of ideas of group of people that are all agreed on and having enough people that are able to input the creation of new and innovative ways to fix or develop a building into the discussion and plan. Specific advantages would be more ideas that can interests and influence the client towards his liking and be able to create solutions and fixes to a clients faster and better.
● Identify and explain a potential drawback of the plan your team drafted.A potential drawback of the plan we drafted could be the placement of the parkin in relation to the area because the parking is furthest away from the petting zoo and museum, which are most likely to be the main attractions to the area and, so the parking should be closer to the both of the sites.
