The Honours Project has two courses (3 credit points / course):

Courses Study Year

1. Honours Project I Year 4 (Semester II)

The course consists of two parts:

Part A. Generic Research Methods

Regardless of your major, BEd students are expected to acquire basic research knowledge in education.

This part will be instructed by the course lecturers in FEHD.

Blended learning mode will be adopted.

Students should study short online units and attend face-to-face tutorials.

The assessment tasks include both online and in-class exercises on research methods.

Part B. Discipline-based Research Methods and Project Proposal Writing

This part will be instructed by course lecturers of students' chosen Research Area (in either their First Major or Education Studies).

2. Honours Project II Year 5

Students work on an independent project of their choice under the guidance of project supervisors.

When... You'll...

Year 3 Semester I Find a Research Area for your Honours Project

Submit online Research Area indication form to the Faculty Office of your study programme by the end of November

Don't forget to talk to the coordinators. They will be able to assist you to find a Research Area that suits your interests and ambitions.

Year 4 Study the Honours Project I

Year 5 Study the Honours Project II, including finalising the proposal, application for ethical review, systematically conducting the study and presenting results, under the guidance of the project supervisor.
