Rotary Objectives

• To provide humanitarian service

• To encourage high ethical standards in all businesses and professions

• To help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Rotary Club of Sevenoaks Amherst

• Chartered in 1978

• We are a dual-gender club of about 30 members

• We meet at the St Julians Club, Sevenoaks each Wednesday evening at 7.30 for 8.00

• We generally have two speakers a month

Club Community Events

Circuit Of Kent Cyclo-Sportive

• This is a challenge cycle ride organised by us and is one of the largest sporting events in Sevenoaks

• Hospice in the Weald, Macmillan Cancer Support and other charities supported by us receive the proceeds – to date over £180,000

Club Community Events

Sevenoaks Amherst golf day at the Wildernesse Club

Now in its 14th year, the event has raised over £60,000 for Hospice in the Weald and other charities we support.

Community Beneficiaries

The club is keen to support young peoples' activities in the local community and in particular supports:

• Young Achievers' awards;• School trips;• Sevenoaks Young Musician of

the Year;• Spring House at Sevenoaks

Hospital;• Travel to Africa;• Try Angle awards;• RYLA (Rotary Youth

Leadership Awards).

Local Charities Supported by Us

• Hospice in the Weald• Age Concern• Macmillan Cancer Support • St John’s School• Children in Need• Sail Training• Royal British Legion• Marie Curie

• And many more

Shelter Boxes

• Tent with groundsheet for 10 people

• 10 sleeping bags and blankets

• An all-purpose cooker

• Utensils for 10 people

• A shovel, tools and rope

• Importantly a device with water-purifying tablets for 10 people for 6 months

Rotary FellowshipAs a club we actively promote

fellowship between members by means of a number of social activities including:

• Walking• Golf• Caravanning• Cycling• Weekend trips• Overseas contacts

and exchange visits• Restaurant visits• Formal annual
