text features. Text features help organize and show

information. Authors use text features to make information

easier to understand. This letter includes many different

text features that you are going to learn about. Can you

guess what they are?

They tell you more about the picture.

Close-ups allow you to see something in

greater detail.

text, usually in a rectangle. They tell you more

IconA computer icon is a picture or symbol that stands for something.

the parts or

functions of

something.

LabelsLabels identify the parts of something. They tell

you what that part is called.

GraphA graph also organizes information so

that it can be seen.
