When finding the form of a song, you are looking for

patterns. Just like you saw with the video. To find the

form listen for parts that are the same or different.

YANKEE DOODLE

Let’s look at a popular Patriotic Song.

A Section:Yankee Doodle went to town a-riding on a pony; stuck a feather in his cap and called it “Maccaroni”.

B Section:Yankee Doodle keep it up, Yankee Doodle dandy; mind the music and the step and with the girls be handy.

pattern AB AB AB and so on.
