Origin
• Pop-Punk originated in the 1970's with bands like The Ramones, The Buzzcocks, The Undertones, The Jam and Bad Religion.
• During the 1990’s was when it became better known, with the bands Green Day, The Offspring and Blink-182 gaining popularity.
Artists Representation
• Artists in this genre are represented as people that teenagers can relate to because their music is about experiences that a lot of people go through while growing up.
• They also show that you should have fun and be doing things because you want to, and not because others want you to.
Ideologies
The main ideologies being represented in music videos of Pop-Punk genre can be put into three groups:
• One is that teenagers do not care about what other people think and they just party with friends and go out and have fun.
• Another shows show the struggles a lot of people go through while growing up.
• The last group consists of videos that just show the artists doing stupid things and being childish because they enjoy their music and want to make viewers laugh at the video.
• All of these groups are realistic and show different parts of a teenager's life.
