A2 Preparation

These tasks must be completed by the start of term to prepare you for the A2 coursework. Your A2 coursework brief is to create a music promo package including a video, digipak and advert. You DO NOT have to choose your artist now however all of your research should suit your chosen genre so at least choose products to analyse of a similar genre.

Task Guidance Present1. Create an A2

blog. You may use blogger or if you wish you can use Weebly if you prefer.

You must create the following pages:

1. Research2. Planning3. Construction4. Final Products5. Evaluation

Your blog must have the URL of:

G324+YOURNAME.blogspot.co.uk

Give this address to tutor to put onto blog hub.

2. Create a Pinterest board to collate creative ideas.

Create a new Pinterest board. Ideally you should have a separate board to collate ideas of music video, Photoshop techniques, digipak and advert ideas.

Embed your board onto a post and link to your RESEARCH page.

3. Detailed music video analysis.

(At least one detailed analysis should be completed but two is desirable!!)

Choose a music video to closely analyse. Make sure the video is of your chosen genre.

Use the analysis support sheet to help you construct a detailed analysis.

Upload written analysis in Word to Slideshare to embed into a blog post along with the embedded video from YouTube or Vimeo.

Link to your RESEARCH page.

4. Shot count task.

Choose a video from your chosen genre. Count each shot (this means each time there is a cut!). You need patience for this! This task establishes how many shots you should be aiming for in your own music video.

Embed video into a post together with a paragraph detailing number of shots counted together with discussion of typical shots noted together with a brief explanation of concept of video. Link to your RESEARCH page.
