Botho College Is one of the largest private tertiary institution. Has various campuses throughout the country. Provides international quality programmes in various

disciplines. Also provides programmes in partnership with

international universities. Aspires to become an university shortly and also planning

to integrate distance education programmes.

The institution is growing in providing a quality education which is benchmarked by national and international academic standards for which we need a shift in the current system.

On the research of change requirement we found that Learning Management System (LMS) would be the best solution.

Learning Management System manages, tracks and reports on interaction between the learner and the content & the learner and the instructor.

Why Learning Management System ?

Perform learner registration, track learner progress, record test scores, and indicate course completions, and finally allow instructor trainers to assess the performance of their learners.

In our research in various Learning Management System (LMS) , we found MOODLE to be the suitable LMS for such a big educational institution.

Conclusion

• LMS can play a major role in education. • MOODLE in one of the popular LMS used in educational

institutions. • Based on a study conducted among the tutors we came to

know that most of the tutors are looking for a change in the traditional system.

• MOODLE is recommended by the authors to be implemented to enhance the existing learning and teaching system in Botho College.
