DIRECT BENEFIT TRANSFER OF LPG (DBTL) SCHEME

Government of India has launched Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG (DBTL) scheme in 18 high Aadhar coverage districts from 1st June 2013. The scheme aims to provide subsidy to consumers in their bank accounts

• Basically different companies sign a contract or an agreement with the BPCL and send various FMCG products or even vessels like utensils, sim cards etc.

• The contract is valid for a year or as mentioned under treaty where the profits are equally shared with the Contractor and the Contracted company.

• That entailed creation of new product categories and correspondingly different pricing

• Subsidized Domestic• Non Subsidized• Exempted Category

• Prior to that, de-duplication exercise was in progress; aimed to weed out multiple connection: LPG and CNG

• By Dec. ’12 end 69 lakhs multiple connections were identified, KYC received for 47 lakhs and 36 lakhs connections blocked.
