Farewell Mary and Pam!
At the end of the year Mary and Pam will be retiring from SkillWise. Pam was one of the original members of SkillWise, joining way back in 1992 (a whopping 26 years!). This was
back when SkillWise was known as SPAN Charitable Trust. Mary joined SkillWise in 2010. They will both be greatly missed around the SkillWise office but we will endeavour to keep in contact through continuing community activities. During Mary’s time with SkillWise she attended Noho
marae where she learnt how to weave with flax. Likewise, Pam is well known for the Peggy Squares she knits. We wish you both all the best for your future adventures!
Community Connections
Above: Keely has joined the Hornby library knitting group and is improving weekly. Right: Georgia’s work trial at Z has been
extended and is going really well!

Kapa Haka
William Maangi, Chicago Te Hira and John Pike performed with the Tuhono kapa haka group at the
Festival of WoW, in Rangiora on Wednesday, November 28. Chicago had a part to say to welcome
everyone to the Festival. William, Chicago, John and the rest of the Tuhono group gave it their all in the songs
and the haka they performed. Everyone also got to enjoy delicious hangi for lunch!

Many thanks!
We're very pleased to let everyone know that we have received a generous donation
from One Foundation for pottery tuition and supplies
for next year. Pottery is enjoyed by many people and we love it when they bring
their work back to the office to show us what they've
made. Many thanks also to their tutor, Mary-Lou Foate,
for making it such a fun activity.

Tūranga library Henry and Adam catch up on Monday
afternoons. Last week, they went to check out the new central library,
Tūranga. They played a game of chess and checked out the game station where they also played a game of foosball and
ate some hot chips. They both really liked the new facilities and highly
recommend a visit!
