The Lab-Line series of environmental chambers provides the most completeselection available, ranging from bench top chambers to custom-sized walk-inunits. Lab-Line is one of the first manufacturers to offer chambers specificallydesigned for the testing of drugs and drug substances for the FDA. In addition,we feature a complete line of refrigerated Ambi Hi-Lo ® chambers for B.O.D. andshelf life testing. For educational and research laboratories, see our completeline of classroom and research-grade plant growth chambers—available in sizesfrom reach-in to walk-in. Whatever the application, Lab-Line has an

680 Series Options
♦ Dehumidification by Refrigeration (D)—An additionalcoil in the refrigeration system works with thespray nozzles to accurately maintain humidity at orbelow ambient conditions. ( Note: Only available forrefrigerated models 680A, 680A-1, 685A, 685A-1.)
♦ Deionizer cartridge assembly (I) —Clean water isessential to long-term operation of humiditychambers. Where deionized water is not available, the deionizer cartridge can be added. While thiscartridge will provide adequate filtering for manyapplications, a local water quality analysis should beperformed to determine whether more extensivepurification is required.
♦ Chart Recorder (R4) —For creating a permanentrecord of temperature and humidity data, a two-pen,10 inch, 7-day recorder can be provided. A
programmable chart recorder giving the user choiceof T/RH ranges and time span for charts is alsoavailable—contact Lab-Line for details.
♦ Computer Communications Port (C1, C2) — R S 2 3 2communications ports can be provided fortemperature only (C1) or temperature and humidity(C2) for applications where data needs to be loggedinto a database.
♦ Fluorescent Lighting (F)—A lighting packageconsisting of four 14 watt fluorescent bulbs can bemounted under a support shelf in the top of thechamber. ( Note: When the lighting option is ordered, only one shelf will be provided.)
♦ Programmable Microprocessor (M)—A 24 stepprogrammable microprocessor is available, capableof four programs containing six steps each.
This chart shows the range of set points achievable in the 680A, 680A-1, 685A, and 685A-1 with the addition ofOption D—Dehumidification by Refrigeration. To use the chart, locate desired temperature along the bottom axis andfollow that line up until it crosses the red Option D line. This is the lower humidity limit. The point where the temperatureline crosses the green humidification line is the upper humidity limit. Contact Lab-Line for additional informationregarding temperature and humidity set points.

700 Series Options
♦ Stainless Steel Interior (S) —necessary for chamberswith controlled humidity.
♦ Humidification by Centrifugal Atomizer (H )—thestandard method for providing humidity. Atomizer islocated at top of chamber, sends heated vapor mistinto ceiling air plenum.
♦ Humidification by Steam Generator (G )—forapplications beyond the limits of the centrifugalatomizer, generator produces steam from a reservoirmounted on the side of the chamber.
♦ Dehumidification by Refrigeration (D)—additionalcoil in the refrigeration system maintains humidityat or below ambient conditions. (Note: A condensingunit must be added for non-refrigerated models.)
♦ Dehumidification by Chemical Dryer (CD )—forapplications beyond the limits of option D, a silica-
based dessicant bed dryer can be installed. The silicais regenerated by a heating system in the dryer, which must be vented to the building exhaust system.(Note: Consult Lab-Line regarding temperature andhumidity requirements for the application)
♦ Chart Recorder (R3, R4) —for creating a permanentrecord of temperature and humidity data, a one- or two-pen, 10 inch, 7-day recorder can be provided.
♦ Other Options:
Vapor proof duplex outlets (V)
Interior fluorescent lights (F)
Access ports (P)

This chart shows the temperature/humidity set points which can be achieved by the various humidification/dehumidificationoptions. To use the chart, locate the desired temperature set point along the horizontal axis, and the desired humidity setpoint along the vertical axis. Follow the line of the temperature set point upward until it intersects the humidity set point line. The area within which the intersection point falls indicates the optional equipment that is necessary to achieve it. For example,if the point falls within the area bounded by the lines for Options H and D, this equipment will be required.1 If the point fallswithin the area above the Option H line, Option G will be needed. If the point falls below the Option D line, a chemical dryer(Option CD) will be necessary.2 1Some set points may require only Option H. Contact Lab-Line for details.
2Options D or CD must be used with either Option H or Option G.

The area into which the intersection point falls will indicate the optional equipment that is necessary to achieve it. For example,if the point falls within the area bounded by the lines for Options H and D, this equipment will be required.1 If the point fallswithin the area above the Option H line, Option G will be needed (dehumidification will not). If the point falls below the OptionD line, a chemical dryer (Option CD) will be necessary.2 1Some set points may require only Option H. Contact Lab-Line for details.
