TheCaliforniaAnalyticalInstruments600FTIRAnalyzerprovidesfast,continuousandstableanalysisofvirtuallyanygasthathasaninfraredabsorptionspectrum.Theproprietaryheatedsam-plecellenablestheinstrumenttoaccommodatehotsamplescontaininghighlevelsofmoisture.

The600FTIRcanserveavarietyofanalyticalapplications,includingdieselemissions,CEM

monitoring,ammoniaslip,SCRinlet/outletmonitoring,processmonitoringandothers.

UnlikeotherFTIRanalyzers,the600FTIRdoesnotrequireliquidnitrogen,eliminatingtheneedtoconstantlyfillLN2dewarsandtheassociatedsafetyissues.Itssmallfootprintandlightweightalloweasyinstallationandtransportabilitywhenrequired.

The600FTIRAnalyzerisbasedonFourierTransformInfraredSpectroscopy.NonsymmetricalgasphasemoleculesabsorbIRlight,causingthemolecularbondstostretch,bendorrotate.Thisabsorptionisusedtomeasureandquantifyseveralchemicalcomponentssimultaneously.

AnIRsourceemitsradiationintherangeof7500to375cm–1.TheIRradiationissplitinaninterferometer,wherethelightissplittowardtwomovingcorner-cubemirrors.Thetwobeamsrecombineandpass

througha4.3-metermulti-reflectiongascellwherethesampleabsorbslightatmolecule-specificfrequencies.TheremaininglightismeasuredwithaDTGSdetectorandFouriertransformedtoconvertfromthetimedomaintothefrequencydomain.Thisproducesasingle-beamspectrumthatisratioedwithabaselinespectrum,produc-inganabsorbancespectrum.TheabsorbancespectrumisquantifiedwithPLSchemometricstoproduceaconcentrationvalue.
