50 years of innovation

50 years of knowledge

50 years of creativity

• From the beginning of our school lots of things have changed such as the name and the location.

The school has become bigger and the numbers of the kids has increased. Nowadays, there are 2200 but only fifty years ago there were only 300 students.

Another important change is clearly seen in the educational system.

• According to the school architectural plans the school had sixteen classes and one library up until 2005 when the school premises were expanded. Today, the buildings of the primary School and the Junior and the Senior High School, include 6 common rooms, 3 computer laboratories, 3 music rooms, 3 art rooms, 3 laboratories for chemistry, sciences and technology, 2 amphitheatres, 2 video rooms, 2 libraries, halls, observatory, restaurant - cafeteria, eurhythmics room, indoor gym, Olympic size swimming pool, basketball/ volleyball/ tennis courts, football pitches250-metre tracks.

• The most remarkable memory of Mrs. Petrea was when she was chosen in the 1999 to represent Ellinogermaniki Agogi in the International Educational Salon, in France. This memory will last forever she says as her work had been awarded.

• But the worst time came a year later ,in the summer of 2000 when the founder of the school, Sandy Savva, passed away. The school wore its black and with tears in its eyes said its last goodbye to the most prominent figure of the school.

• One sentence to describe the school would be impossible to find so Ms. Petrea said those meaningful words from heart:

‘’Our school is warm and has a family atmosphere . Moreover, our school supports the students not only on an educational basis but also emotionally .’’

• According to Mrs. Petrea this question requires both logic and emotion to give a response to, as she wants wholeheartedly for the school to continue to exist ,which will hopefully be the case if the social and economic conditions remain unchanged.

• This answer should primarily be elicited from the students but according to Mrs. Petrea, the changes that the school administration thought that should have been taken had already been taken.
