ROSARY SER-VICE FOR END
TO THE
CORONAVIRUS
"The most Holy Virgin in these Times has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Holy Rosary. She has given this efficacy to such an extent that there is no
problem, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the praying of the rosary" ( Sr Lucia).
A rosary service will be held in
St. Mirins Cathedral on
Tuesday, 17th March
at 7.00pm,
for an end to the Coronavirus
and in intercession
for all those
affected by it.
This service is open to all.
Not everyone will be able to be present for the Rosary at the Cathedral on Tuesday evening but we can all join in in this prayer, either at
7pm itself or at another time of the day

3rd Sunday of Lent (A)
Sunday 15th March 2020
AT THIS TIME ALL LEAFLETS THAT YOU USE AT CHURCH SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY
THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19) This week there are some additional things have been put in place reading our response to the Coranavirus and especially trying to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. Bishop John has dispensed the elderly and those with underlining health con-ditions from their religious obligations around attending Mass and the Sacra-ments until further notice, and encour-ages them NOT to attend. Those with persistent coughs and flu like symp-toms are advised to follow the Govern-ment’s directions regarding self-isolation and are also encouraged NOT to attend. Should the government act to close schools etc, the diocese will, at that point, make a prudential judgement on the celebration of public Masses. Please use the HAND SANITISERS provided when entering the church. Please remember that while our diocesan advice says that HOLY COMMUNION will be distributed on the hand or tongue,
if receiving on the tongue, present yourself with mouth wide open and tongue extended to minimise finger contact from the minister.
If receiving by hand, ensure your hands are sanitised and extend them wide open/flat for the host to be placed with minimum contact. COLLECTION BAGS will no longer be passed round. There are two prominent collection points on entering the Church.
Please place your normal offering in one of these.
With reduced numbers likely to be at Mass we would ask you to consider your ongoing contributions to the Church which are essential for us to pay our bills. You may wish to consider an alternative way of giving: Standing Order forms are available in the sacristy to set up regular giving from your bank account. If you use mobile banking you could consider adding Saint Charles’ as a payee – that way if you miss the new collection points or don’t have cash on you, you can make a one-off payment instead. Our bank details are as follows:
HOSPITAL MASS & VISITS
Please note that the Mass at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is suspended. Also due to protocols implemented by Greater Glasgow & Clyde pastoral visits to hos-pitals are suspended at this time. Priests will still be available in an emergency—this should take place by asking the ward staff to get the switch-board to page/call for the on-call priest.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS For the foreseeable future, Holy Communion will only be distributed under one kind. Ministers are required to sanitise their hands. A new sanitising unity has been placed on the wall at the left hand side of the Sanctuary.
