4) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and

evaluation stages?

We used a variety of different technologies depending on which production stage we were at.

Research/planning

For the research stages we used internet explorer.

On internet explorer we used Google search engine to find background information on our subject.

We also used 4od to look for documentaries that were similar in content to our subject.

Construction

Camera- canon XM2

We used the camera to film all of the footage for our documentary. We used the camera, handheld to film all of the

live footage of the bands playing.

Tripod

For the interviews we used the camera on the tripod to ensure that we could get the framing right.

We recorded the entirety of our documentary on mini dv tapes.

We used the radio room in college to record our voiceovers because it is a soundproof room. It ensures that the sound was at

its best quality.

During the interviews on camera, we used a clip mic and headphones to ensure the sound quality was at its best.

We used a digital camera or our phones to take pictures as evidence.

Editing.

We used a quadcore pc and a TFT moniter to capture and edit our texts.

To capture the footage we recorded we used a dv capture deck and a samsung lcd monitor to watch back the footage.

We used USB memory sticks and IPOD to store cutaway pictures and music to put into out documentary.

The progaramme we used to edit our documentary was premier pro cs5.

On premier we could edit the entire documentary. We could do many things such as cut a piece of footage.

We also used premier pro in order to add special effects to our documentary.

We also used premier pro to create our radio trailer.

We used photoshop cs5 to create our print advert.

Evaluation.

For the evaluation stages of the coursework I used many different programmes.

The main programme we used to keep our notes together was blogger.

With blogger we could upload written work, video’s, photographs and sound clips. It was very useful in all of the stages of creation.

We used youtube to upload our radio trailer and documentary. It was imported to receive feedback and youtube was an easy way for

us to do this. I also used it to embed the texts to my blog.

We used facebook for similar reasons as youtube. It was a good way to receive feedback after posting our documentary to it.

I used prezi to create a presentation for my evaluation. It is an exciting way of presenting information because it uses zooms and

slides.

I also used slideshare to make an exciting, online presentation that is more visually appealing.
