The main objective of this book is to provide an accurate reports of the
material used, processes required, fasteners and tools used in the
construction of our 2016 prototype; wich will participate in the Formula SAE
competition Michigan 2016 under number 35.

Introduction
Formula SAE Series competitions challenge teams of university undergraduate
and graduate to conceive, design, develop, manufacture and race a small
Formula type vehicle. For the purpose of this competition is to create a vehicle
to be sold for the non-professional, weekend racers; by which the
performance, design and production cost is evaluated.
UNIMET Motorsports has build five (5) vehicles, but without maintainingsustainability over time. The first prototype was build for 2004, the following
three for 2006, 2007, 2010 and the last on 2015. Given this, the 2016 team
has the purpose to build a prototype for this year, and also work to leave a
solid foundation for forthcoming years, in order to get better results each
year.
In Venezuela, UNIMET Motorsport’s headquarters, in going through a rough
economical situation where the country register a hyper-inflation and a lack of
raw material; therefore, for this year, the team set as a main goal to build a
vehicle that end each of the technical test. Given the situation and the
purpose of the competition, the team has designed each of the pieces best
within their scope both capacity building and economic.
