June 3, 4 and 5 201535th AQPC SYMPOSIUM
The 35th AQPC symposium provides an opportunity to explore the many pathways to collaboration taking shape in classrooms, in colleges, between colleges, and between colleges and their communities. By attending the symposium, you will see to what degree learning and teaching places us at the core of a powerful exchange network that strengthens us and transforms individual energy into synergy.
For students and teachers, the prime setting for collaboration is the classroom, be it physical or virtual; in a laboratory, gym, or internship environment; in a college or out in the field; at home or abroad. This is where information exchanges between students are sparked and where the student–teacher relationship is set in motion. Throughout the symposium's three days, you will discover many examples of collaborative work between students, presentations of teaching approaches fostering collaboration, and accounts of collaborative experiences between teachers. The presentations about flipped classrooms, organizing student teamwork, and learning assessment in a team context will be particularly interesting in this regard.
In addition to their educational mission, colleges have a role to play in their respective communities as drivers of cultural, scientific, and economic development. As a result, they take part in collaborative networks that associate them with all the major actors in their regions. By taking part in the symposium, you will be able to consider many examples of colleges contributing to the synergy within their regions, whether to bolster student persistence, foster the dissemination of scientific culture, or help integrate new arrivals.
The AQPC, the CÉGEP de Chicoutimi, and the CÉGEP de Jonquière trust that the symposium will provide you with an enjoyable and enriching opportunity to explore all the mechanisms of synergy implemented within the college system. We therefore invite you to join with colleagues from all of the system's colleges as well those from universities and schools throughout the province and embark on this pedagogical journey. We also extend a welcome to partners in education-related networks in Quebec, elsewhere in Canada, and in other countries.
