You can make a

difference in the Erie

community by donating

things you don’t need.

How can you make a

difference with your extra:

Non-

perishable

food items

like boxed

food and

canned

food are

the easiest

to donate.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Food given to Second

Harvest goes to help

420 of their partner

organizations. Last year,

they gave out 11.2

million pounds of food!

You can

donate

clothes

that don’t

fit you

anymore.

Just make

sure they

are still

wearable

if you

donate

them to

these

charities.

EUMA: Rainbow Connection Thrift Store

This thrift store sells

clothes for low prices,

and uses the money they

receive to help the

homeless in Erie. They

also give away free

clothes to those who

can’t afford them.

St. Martin Center

The St. Martin Center

helps people who are

having a hard time

finding a job. They give

items such as clothes,

and also help families get

back on their feet again.

If you have

working

toys you

don’t want

anymore,

you can

donate

them to

other

children

through

these

charities.

Salvation Army

You can donate used toys

to the Salvation Army Thrift

Store. You can also take

part in the Angel Tree

project, where you donate

new toys to a child who

would not normally get

Christmas presents.

Even a

little bit of

time spent

helping

your

community

can make

a big

difference.

Boy Scouts

Boy Scouts participate in

activities and field trips

that help boys learn

about how to improve

themselves and their

communities.
