The necessity to create sustainable and efficient process-es is of major relevance for mineral industries as for any other branch in modern economies. Nowadays, exca-vation technologies in which rock extraction is conduct-ed mechanically and no explosives are used, are highly efficient and provide high production rates. Safety and emission issues related to blasting do not apply. Addi-tionally, extraction takes place continuously. However, mechanical methods face limits of application with in-creasing rock strength and abrasivity. To push these limits is the task of researchers and companies worldwide.
For presenting the actual state-of-the-art in research and application, the Institute of Mining and Special Civil En-gineering of TU Bergakademie Freiberg is hosting the 5th International Colloquium of Non-Blasting Rock Ex-traction. Following the ideas set up on the colloquium in 1997, it provides a specialized forum for mining, drill-ing, processing, special civil engineering, tunneling, and the construction industry.
This year’s conference is organized in cooperation with Protodjakonov-Colloquium, which is specified to me-chanical rock destruction and related processes in the frame of the International University of Resources.
With the intention to present the state-of-the-art concern-ing theory and praxis, we invite you to join the group of presenters. Please apply for an oral presentation, a post-er presentation, or participating with a company’s stand.
