A message from Fr. Dan
The Woman at the Well asks for this “Life Giving” water. We call these Sacraments and focus upon Reconciliation (confession, penance) during LENT. You will find inserted in this bulletin a “How To” guide for properly receiving this Life Giving Sacrament of Forgiveness. Use this to prepare for and also bring with you to Reconciliation. This will assist you in focusing and removing some nervousness about this Sacrament. Reconciliation is Satur-day from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Our tri-parish service is Tuesday, March 31, 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Parish. I, Fr. Dan, will give you 1/2 off your penance during this season of Lent just for the asking! No coupons necessary! HAND SANITIZERS AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS This past October our Eucharistic Ministers gathered with Fr. Dan and Deacon Roy for training. We all agreed to either use a personal pocket/purse size sanitizer or use those available in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. We will also have one at the Altar of Sacrifice for discreet use. We are adding foaming hand sanitizers throughout the School as well as the Church entryways. And as a reminder, a VERBAL SIGN OF PEACE IS ALWAYS APPROPRIATE. NEW FULL COLOR BULLETIN BEGINS APRIL 4 AND 5. A repre-sentative from “Diocesan Publications” located in Lansing, MI will be at St. Agnes the week of March 23 soliciting bulletin advertisers. This new full color bulletin will not only enhance our weekly bulletin with color but also save our parish over $5,000 annually! Another quality improvement as we continue to move forward as a parish family. SOUND SYSTEM Please feel free to make kind and gentle suggestions to me, Deacon Roy or our choir as we continue to adjust our new sound system. NEW OFFICE HOURS During this 6 month interim period (January-July 2020) our Parish Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This allows our staff and volunteers to take a lunch break and run errands.

A LETTER FROM THE BISHOP (Catholic Relief Services)
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Soon, our diocese will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection. Your support of this collection serves Jesus by helping people in need in some of the most marginalized communities in our world. For migrant farmworkers in California’s San Joaquin Valley, workdays during the grape harvest begin at 6:00 a.m. and last until 7:00 p.m. Some workers have lived in the valley for years, renting nearby trailer housing, and others live in towns nearby. Still others are recent migrants from Mexico and Central America. Catechists and lay ministers serve all these workers by visiting migrant camps near the vineyards where they work. They bring religious instruction and share prayer, theological reflection, and Catholic social justice teaching about the inherent dignity and rights of migrant workers like the people they serve. Through funds from the collection, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ program for the pastoral care of migrants, refugees, and travelers collaborates with local dioceses to visit and attend to the needs of underserved migrant farm workers and others who live on the margins. Your support of this collection makes a difference for so many around the globe. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection this year. To learn more about the collection and the people who benefit, please visit www.usccb.org/catholic-relief.
Please support the collection and answer the knock of Jesus by helping people in need. Sincerely yours in Christ, +Most Reverend Thomas John Paprocki Bishop of Springfield in Illinois
