EXTERNAL VISITORS TO SCHOOL SITE FORM
For external visitors to the school site, we are now required to have a signed form. This form acts as evidence that
the visitor is aware of, and will abide by their obligations to comply with the health advice of the day, including
hygiene and distancing requirements. The visitor must provide personal contact information to the school to be used
in an emergency or when performing contact tracing, if required. This includes visitors coming in for meetings. The
front office has all these forms and will be asking all external visitors to sign these before conducting a service or
meeting.
GROWING YUIN LANGUAGES - SHARING AND CELEBRATING DHURGA
In partnership with Merrimans Local Aboriginal Land Council and Red Cross, Bermagui PS has benefited from a
grant to revive a Yuin language - Dhurga, within our school. This grant is from Aboriginal Affairs NSW as a part of
the Languages Community Investments Program. Each week every class in the school will participate in a 30 minute
language and culture lesson. There will also be opportunities for outdoor learning, excursions and visits with local
community members. The students will also help create language resources for use in class as well as in other
schools and community organisations in the Yuin region. I would like to thank Mrs Loughran and Gordon for the
extra work they have engaged in to provide our students with this opportunity.
YEAR 5 2021 OPPORTUNITY CLASS PLACEMENT FINAL REMINDER
Applications for placement in a Year 5 opportunity class in 2021 will close this Friday, 26 June 2020. Parents must
apply online at:
https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-5
TELL THEM FROM ME SURVEY
Our Year 4 to 6 students will be taking part in the ‘Tell Them From Me’ student surveys next week. The survey will
provide us with valuable feedback on what our students think about school life, how they are engaged in school and
the different ways that teachers interact with them. If you do not want your child to participate, please return the
non-consent form by this Friday, 26 June.
PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
We are in the final stages of having the playground equipment ready for use. Moduplay came last Friday and
replaced many parts of the playground equipment and brought it back up to the required standard. Once everything
has been finalised, I will take each class down to go over
the expectations and rules when playing on the
equipment and get the area back up and operational.
SCHOOL PHOTOS Just a reminder that we will be holding our school photos
THIS Thursday, 25 June. Ordering envelopes were
sent home 2 weeks ago and need to be returned to the
class teacher before photo day. If you require a family
photo (for siblings at school), please contact the office
and we will send an ordering envelope home with your
child.

CANTEEN NEWS VOLUNTEERS Wednesday 24 June Janette
Friday 26 June Andrew & Eva
Monday 29 June Annette
I am desperate for volunteers to help out in the canteen, I
only have about 5 volunteers at the moment. It would be
great to see some new Mums, Dads or Grandparents
come and help out, even if it's only for a few hours. There
is not really much to helping in the canteen: bag up
cookies, party pies, dino nuggets or putting labels on
drinks, making toasties or cutting up salads. You also get
a $5 voucher for your child to use in the canteen too.
Thank you to Annette for donating flour.
Homemade pumpkin soup with slice of garlic bread for
$3.50. Noodles with homemade tomato sauce with a slice
of garlic bread for $3.50
Sarah - Canteen manager
P&C NEWS
We will be holding an informal P&C gathering at the Harbar
this Thursday at 5.30pm. This is a chance for a less formal
setting to chat about ideas and also get to know each other.
Due to Covid restrictions, we are limited with numbers so
please call or SMS me to reserve your place.
Don't forget photo's are on this Thursday, 25 June.
We do have some stock in the canteen of new and used
uniforms, call or message me if your interested.
The canteen is desperate for volunteers and if you or
someone in your family could help out for a couple of hours
please let us know. Volunteers will need to complete a
declaration at the office before volunteering.
