About My-Self• I attend LSU where I am going into my Junior

year. • Switched into Construction Management last

summer.• Member of The Construction Student

Association (CSA), CSA Mentor Program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and apart of the LSU Triathlon Club Team.

• Live in the Baton Rouge Area.• I like to help those in need and push my self to

see what I can accomplish.

Accomplishments to be made This Summer

• I wanted to learn as much as possible about tasks being completed on site by the General Contractor.

• So we divided up my summer by placing me in different roles, either by week or by day.

- Safety and Quality Control- Laborer/ Carpenter’s helper

- Superintendent- Project Management

- Surveying

Safety and Quality Controlwith Eric

• Safety was one of the first roles I was put into and that included

• Predictive solutions• Tool box Talks on Monday Mornings • Safety Orientations

DO NOT CROSS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

• JSA’S• Pre-Con meetings• Putting up signage

Laboring• Occupant protection• Tyvek and waterproofing • Window protection• Punch list at Carver High

School• Overviews on how to operate

bulldozer, Lull, and skid steer• In house I.T. for the little

things• Organizing the office when

first moved into the space

Superintendent work with John and Kyle

• Knowledgeable about the project• Know how to deal with delays• Communication is key• Superintendent meetings weekly• Draw temporary wall plans • Estimating for materials needed

• Foam for the Gateway • Window Protection• Amount of concrete for a pour

Project Management with Michael and Jef• Majority of the second half of my summer has been

spent under both of them where I have learned about:

• Submittals• RFI’S

• Preparing the Budget

• Multi-vista

• Bluebeam

Surveying with Billy and Kenny• Enrolled to take this course this

coming fall at LSU• Check documents for conflicting

information• Ex: embedment on pile caps

• Learned how to take elevations • 1st time reading decimal

measuring tape

• Use the Carson Cad program in which the data is collected in.• Input into hand held for total

station • Input new points to be put out in

field

• Take back sight and why it is important

• Set up total station• Shot in piles• Measured in piles

• Always be aware of surroundings. Their is a lot of machinery on site and not everyone operating is looking out for you.

• Try to be as knowledgeable about upcoming work as you can so you can help answer questions.

• That a truck is a lot more useful for construction then a car
