Information on Winthrop University's Emerging Leaders program and how to apply

TRANSCRIPT

Emerging Leaders is a highly distinctive program that is designed to educate, empower, and prepare 20-25 first-year students for leadership positions at Winthrop University.

In order to actively learn what it means to lead on campus and in the world, Emerging Leaders will live together in a residence hall, share two academic courses, and explore different aspects of leadership.

Emerging Leaders will live together on the Leadership Explorers floor of Richardson Hall where they can continue learning outside of class and engage in leadership discussions and programs.

Participants will go on a leadership retreat on August 19-21, 2014. Students will also share two fall courses: LEAD 175 on Mondays from 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. and ACAD 101 on Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Emerging Leaders will explore their leadership skills and potential through activities, self-reflection, and group discussion. Students should be active participants in the entire program.
