As the state’s premier business assistance provider, the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) assists entrepreneurs at every stage of business development and growth. A partnership of the U.S. Small Business Administration and University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business, ASBTDC serves new, existing, and innovation-based small businesses.

ASBTDC provides free consulting and market research services plus affordable training to the business community through a statewide network of seven offices. Regional offices are located at Arkansas State University, Arkansas Tech University, Henderson State University, Southern Arkansas University, and University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. The Institute for Economic Advancement was founded in 1955 as the research and support arm of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, which remains a major responsibility today. The IEA is the state’s only university-based economic development research and service unit with a statewide mandate. The Institute has been a part of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock since 1982 and a service unit of the University’s College of Business since 1993.

The Institute serves as the U. S. Department of Commerce’s official State Census Center as well as an Economic Development Administration University Center for Arkansas. Its clients include both private and public community economic development organizations throughout Arkansas, the mid-South, and Southwest.
