U-6 Division Changes• Fact: simply not enough referees• Fact: U-6 has very simple rules:

– Start/Stop Play and Time (learn more outside right after this session)

– This doesn’t require a referee only a facilitator

• Fact: Coaches have had this additional responsibility– New Fact: A few 10+year olds (future referees) will help

• Fact: parents are already at the game– Why not learn a little and get involved?– One parent from each team:

• First half: Parent A on the field for start/stop, Parent B keeps time

• Second half: switch• All facilitators require a volunteer form at www.eayso.org

– U-6 Facilitator Role Play immediately after this session outside

16

U-5 Program Guidelines• The objective of this program is to provide young

players and their parents with a “pressure free” introduction to the beautiful and simple game of soccer. At this age, players should be exposed to soccer by playing simple, fun activities and games that require little to no practice, and a minimal time commitment.

This program allows players to discover the game for themselves, while parents are given a soccer foundation on which to build and grow into future AYSO coaches, referees and administrators. (The AYSO U-5 Program is not to be considered a coaching program. )

• The U-5 program consists of one day (Game Day) per week of the Jamboree One with One program for 8 weeks.
