Important Updates & Reminders

The surveys for the 2009 leavers, those in special education who left high school between September 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009, are due no later than NOVEMBER 1, 2010. All surveys must be submitted via the online system.

History of the Post-school Data Collection

Post-school data has been collected since 1996 and has been required by OSPI as part of the LEA application for federal funds since 2000.Post-school data collection is now required by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) as outlined in Indicator #14 of Part B-State Performance Plan (SPP) monitoring priority.

How are the data used?

Districts develop goals for program improvement goals & findings are addressed in the LEA Application for federal funds.OSPI uses the data for the State Performance Plan (SPP)/Annual Performance Review (APR).CCTS uses the data for training, program improvement and policy alignment.DVR, DDD, WorkSource, the Governor’s Office use the data for program improvement in applying for grants, work scope, strategic planning and policy alignment.

Online Data Collection System Log In:

Type your email address and password then click on the ‘Log In’ buttonContact your district manager to add a new account. Upon receiving a computer generated password, click on the link in the message. Next , choose

a personal password .

Entering the Online Post-school Survey

Click on either the highlighted text or the Post-school Data area of the triangle

1) Click on the 2009 Leavers to manage surveys and to begin the telephone surveys that start on June 1 and are due by November 1, 2010.

2) Click on 2010 to add demographic data for this year’s Leavers.

Select the 2009 Leavers to update any changes to your 2008-2009 leavers. After updating changes you may begin the 2009 Post-school Survey due by November 1, 2010.

After adding students, each LEA/high school building will display all of the student ID numbers as well as the status of their Post-school survey.

Clicking on the demographic information will give you this page. You may edit this information as needed until you have submitted the survey.

Once you have submitted the survey, the student’s information is locked and you will need to contact CCTS to make any modifications.

After identifying yourself (the caller) please complete the prompts by clicking on the appropriate item.

Information for the Caller

June 3, 2010 3:00 p.m. You will need to attempt contacting the student at least three times before indicating that you could not conduct that student ‘s post-school survey.
