• Inactivity and Diet HAVE replaced smoking as the leading cause death in the U.S.A.

• Research shows that the average American daily caloric intake has increased 7% over the last decade. At the same time inactivity has increased more than 25%.

Aerobic Exercise Energy Source

• 65% to 75% of maximum heart rate you will use fats as your fuel or energy source. At this level you will burn calories more effectively.

• 75% to 85% of maximum heart rate you will use sugars as your fuel source. These are sugars your body produces after breaking down carbohydrates.

• Above 85% your fuel source is protein. At this level it is anaerobic and you break down muscle
