Hard work and dedication are part of thestrive to excel. But some people do not have thatdrive to excel; others have so much of it that theyget involved in too many activities and burnout. With school, work, and other activities it becomeseasy to get tired. Here the strive to excel may begone. The strive to just survive has taken over.

It's not unusual to occasionally want to stay inbed instead of going to school. Students thatcome to school, except for only occasionallystaying in bed, and go through the hassles ofhomework, jobs, activities, and student life canlook back and proudly say, "We survived 95!"
