In 1973 the Atlanta Regional Commission created a regional bicycle plan in response to the 1970’s boom in recreational and transportation bicycling. This plan documents bicycling trends, bicycle facility concepts, policy needs, funding needs, educational goals, and an ambitious cross-region demonstration project. The ideas portrayed in this document were ahead of their time and remain useful in present day metro Atlanta.
