Drawing to Innovate and Lead

Drawing and doodling is one great way to get our creative juices flowing. This workshop allows participants to discover how they can use doodling to visualise (draw) and generate more creative ideas, solve problems and make better decisions. Whether they can draw or not, sketches and stories were all presented on the table by everyone. We hope you had fun, and keep drawing !

Research Methodology and Statistical Help (ReSH) is one of services provided by ADeC in order to help UM Community especially UM Academicians and UM Postgraduate Students on statistical and research methodology on various area.Our consultant provides consulting services at RM 100/hour(for UM Community).Among topics discussed are Data Analysis, Research Methodology, SMART-PLS approach, Data Analysis using Non-parametric tests, ANOVA & ANCOVA and Statistical Analysis using GERD among many others.

Questionnaire and Instrument Validity

This lecture focused on the questionnaire validation, which is a process in which the cre-ators review the questionnaire to determine whether the questionnaire measures what it was designed to measure. Participants were taught on how to understand different types of constructs, identify the best validation process in their researches, improve their knowledge regarding suitable statistical method in validity, and applying the proper method of validity in their research.

This workshop aimed at researchers who need to learn and use structural equation modelling analysis through SEM-PLS approach for their research. The course introduces Smart-PLS software for SEM-PLS analysis, where trainer covered topics such as assumptions of PLS, exogenous and endogenous variables, formative measurement models and evaluation of structural model.

EmeraLd Teaching and Learning

This five-day intensive course designed to equip UM academicians with basic skills vital to teaching in higher education generally, and in UM specifically. Some of the modules include are Assessment Approach, Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and Feedback on Learning and Teaching. Participants were exposed to basic aspects of teaching, including basic philosophy and pedagogy, scholarship of teaching and learning, as well UM-specific aspects of teaching in higher education.

Utilising Learning Space for Interactive Learning

This course exposed participants on the various techniques to rearrange the mobile furnitures to several layout that is suitable for different learning objec-tives. The participants were also introduced to several collaborative learning techniques that can utilise the available room and exposure to several web 2.0 tools that are compatible with interactive learning. Various techniques to rear-range the mobile furnitures to several layout that is suitable for different learning objectives were shown in this workshop.

36th MEIPTA MeetingUniversity of Malaya has been given the honored to host the 36th Persidangan Meja Bulat Majlis Ketua-Ketua Penyelaras E-Pembelajaran IPTA Malaysia (MEIPTA). Representative from all public universities in Malayasia came to Rumah Universiti UM for an intensive discussion on current issue and ideas on e-learning. The three-day event include a visit to UM Learning Spaces, meetings and publication workshop.
