From the ends of the earth
From the depths of the sea
From the heights of the heavens
Your Name be praised
From the hearts of the weak
From the shouts of the strong
From the lips of all people
This song we raise Lord
Throughout the endless ages
You will be crowned with praises
Lord Most High!
Exalted in every nation
Sovereign of all creation
Lord Most High! Be magnified

God’s Immanence – Part 2By immanence we mean God’s presence and
activity within nature. The dictionary defines it as “existing or remaining within.”
The emphasis here is on God’s activity within the regular patterns of nature; He is the God of natural law. God indwells His creation and its processes.
20
God’s ImmanenceThere are several implications to God’s
immanence.
First, He is not limited to working miraculously to accomplish his purposes.
For instance, it is also God’s work when, through the application of medical knowledge and skill of a physician, a patient is successfully brought back to health. Healing does not have to be supernatural for it to be of God.
21
God’s Immanence
Secondly, God may use persons and organizations that are not openly Christian. In biblical times, God did not limit himself to working through the covenant nation of Israel or through the church.
Even non-Christians do some genuinely good and commendable things which contribute to God’s purposes in the world.
22
God’s Immanence
Thirdly, we should have an appreciation for all that God has created. While nature is given to humans to satisfy their legitimate needs, they ought not to exploit it for their own greed.
Along the same line, God’s immanence has implications regarding our attitude to fellow humans. God is genuinely present within everyone (though not in the same special sense in which He indwells Christians).
23
God’s Immanence
Fourthly, we can learn something about God from his creation. All that is, has been brought into being by God, and further, is actively indwelt by Him.
We may therefore detect clues about what God is like by observing the behavior of the created universe.
24
God’s Immanence
For example, we can see a definite plan of logic.
Those who believe that God is sporadic, arbitrary, or whimsical, and that his actions are contradictory, have not taken a close and serious look at creation.
25
God’s ImmanenceFinally, God’s immanence means that there are
points at which the gospel can make contact with the unbeliever.
If God is to some extent present and active within the whole of the created world, He is present and active within humans who have not made a personal commitment to Him.
Thus, there are points at which they will be sensitive to the truth of the gospel message.

Four Things Psalm 18 is About
1. God’s Interaction with David
2. God’s Interaction with Israel
3. God’s Interaction with Christ
4. God’s Interaction with us
How to Read Psalm 18
1. Poetic History- God’s Interaction with David
- God’s Interaction with Israel
2. Poetic Prophecy- God’s Interaction with Christ
3. Poetic Theology- God’s Interaction with us
When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say
“It is well, it is well with my soul”
Tho’ Satan should buffet, tho’ trials should come
Let this blest assurance control
That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate
And hath shed His own blood for my soul
My sin, O the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin, not in part but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, O my soul!
And, Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend
“Even so” – it is well with my soul
Praise the name of JesusPraise the name of Jesus He’s my rock, He’s my fortress He’s my deliverer in Him will I trustPraise the name of Jesus
Come now, ye great, before Jehovah
Bring honor to his majesty
His mighty voice is heard with thunder
Sink down into the dust and pray
52
The mighty God show forth his pow’r
His thunders roll in clouds on high
His lightning flashes on the waters
And sudden torrents from the sky
53
God’s voice resounds upon the waters
His thund’ring word all things does shake
Proclaims His vengeance to His haters
And causes earth and rocks to quake!
54
With glory, majesty and pow’r
Resounds the threat’ning voice of God
With flaming message, thrilling shower
He shows to us His chast’ning rod
55
Therefore, mankind, of every nation
Abase yourselves, do not delay
Observe this wondrous indication
That soon will come a judgment day!
56
The Lord, first threat’ning in a storm
Will smite the world with curse and ban ---
Oh, then repent and seek the Savior
Who died to rescue sinful men!
57
The Lord is as a King exalted
With wondrous might, and in the sky
Has set His rainbow as a token
That grace and mercy now are nigh
58
Therefore, ye nations, heed the wise
His might and power recognize
He’ll change His wrath to grace and favor
Give rest and peace in Paradise
59
In heavenly armor we’ll enter the land
The battle belongs to the Lord!
No weapon that’s fashioned against us will stand
The battle belongs to the Lord!
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord!
When the power of darkness comes in like a flood
The battle belongs to the Lord!
He’s raised up a standard, the power of His blood
The battle belongs to the Lord!
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord!
When your enemy presses in hard do not fear
The battle belongs to the Lord!
Take courage, my friend, your redemption is near
The battle belongs to the Lord!
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord!
68
What wisdom once devised the plan
Where all our sin and pride
Was placed upon the perfect Lamb
Who suffered bled and died
69
The wisdom of a sovereign God
Whose greatness will be shown
When those who crucified Your Son
Rejoice around Your throne
70
What righteousness was there revealed
That sets the guilty free
That justifies ungodly men and calls the filthy clean
71
A righteousness that proved to all
Your justice has been met
A holy wrath is satisfied through one atoning death
72
And oh the glory of the Cross
That You would send Your Son for us
I gladly count my life as loss
That I might come to know
The glory of, the glory of the Cross
73
What mercy now has been proclaimed
For those who would believe
A love incomprehensible, our minds could not conceive
74
A mercy that forgives our sin
That makes us like Your Son
And now we’re loved forevermore
Because of what You’ve done
75
And oh the glory of the Cross
That You would send Your Son for us
I gladly count my life as loss
That I might come to know
The glory of, the glory of the Cross
HEBREWS 8:7-13 (NIV)For if there had been nothing wrong with that first
covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said:
“The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.
“It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.
“This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.
“I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.
“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.
This is the Word of the Lord
Thanks be to God
