So,•You can’t expect to have one PRO (conference room) with 20 outlying LITE clients.•Even though there is a PRO board, all of the video from the LITE clients must be decoded in SW.•Only PRO <-> PRO clients take advantage of the HW card

Within a live conference or lecture, a live broadcast can be added to all clients with no problem.•Call the broadcasting client as a video server•Audio is live in every window, through the audio bridge•All clients receive the live broadcast at the same time
Within a live conference or lecture, a stored-on-disk broadcast can be added, but the audio is treated differently.•Connect to the stored video through the broadcast button, then browse the network or local disk for the video•Each client must connect separately•Stored Audio does not go the audio bridge:
•Click on Conference Video to hear conference audio•Click on Broadcast Video to hear stored audio
•Each client receives the stored broadcast at different times

So, just how do you achieve full audio functionality when mixing live and stored videos? There must be separate audio playback devices on the client for the live and stored video/audio streams. •Live streams to the ACV PRO board receiving PRO or LITE video and audio. Audio goes through the Audio Bridge.
•The received stored streaming video is MPEG-1 and either:•Decoded in SW on the computer monitor, with the audio coming out of the computer’s sound system.•Decoded in HW using the Optibase MPEG decoder board with the video and audio going to an external video monitor.
•This cannot be done with just a LITE client, both the live and stored streams will compete for the audio output.

•N input streams, whether IP Unicast or Multicast•N output streams for IP Unicast•Potentially one output stream for IP Multicast, if each receiving client requests the same video stream.
Audio -• 35 Kbs is a practical talking heads lower limit.•No matter how many connections in a live conference, there is only one audio stream into and out of a client.

Are the clients on the network properly -•Check IP address resolution and reverse IP address resolution
•ping computer-name, returns computer-address•ping -a computer-address, returns computer-name•All the address and names must match.
Test the quality of connection - go to http://www.qcheck.net• Install qcheck on all clients•Test using the streaming TCP/UDP option, up to 1Mbs
Symptoms of bad IP address resolution • ACV Calls result in only a one-way and not two-way connections• ACV Calls take a very long time to complete
Install Microsoft SP6 with hotfix for WinNT and Win2000•Prevents computer lock-up caused by fragmented network packets

• The Pro Card off loads the encoding and decoding workload from the Pentium Processor
• With the Pro Card you can achieve CD quality sound and thirty frames per second video for up to thirty conferees. IF YOU HAVE THE BANDWIDTH.
• In a 1 to 10, 20, or 30 each endpoint must have a Pro Card to achieve the above results.
