Who is FPD

FPD is a South African Private Institution of Higher Education

FPD employs 1059 people across 5 provinces.

FPD plays a substantive part in the national response:

- A treatment project supporting 58 public health clinics across 5 provinces- The largest healthcare professional HIV training programme in Africa- Organizing the national AIDS and TB Conference

What is FPD Plus?

Number of staff at FPD are living with HIV

No formal programme for postive staff – except a

company medical aid

A more formal programme was started in August

2009 in order to create a more enabling

environment for staff living with and affected by

HIV

Dealing with stigma and disclosure is a longer term

process

It is planned to hold information and awareness

sessions for all staff in the New Year.

would hopefully decrease stigma and increase

acceptance.
