“What is success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose.”
—Margaret Thatcher
Positive thinking is very important when examinations are
round the corner. Impossible and improbable becomes
inevitable if one has the will to achieve it. The myriad of
activities at Vidyalankar where we see learning through
doing is the best way to approach any difficult problem.
Events like Sportsmania 2018 proves that like in sports,
hard work does matter in life.
To add to our repertoire of excellence, Dr. Saurabh Mehta
from the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, received the
Distinguished Faculty Award in developing/using innovative teaching methodologies by
CSI Mumbai Chapter on 10 February 2018, TechNext India 2018, IITB, Mumbai.
In addition to these, the Department of Computer Engineering also received the “Best
Accredited Student Branch Award from CSI”. VIT appreciates the contribution of all its
stakeholders in helping us achieve this and looks forward for their continued support. I am
also glad to express that we had many events in the campus in this quarter which proved
to be a huge success. Apart from many other technical and non-technical events, “Verve
2018‟ caught the maximum attention from both inter and intra-college students. I would
also like to whole-heartedly congratulate the students who graduated from this institute in
2017 by a time-honored ceremony that celebrated individual students‟ achievements. A
much awaited event in every graduate‟s life, it was not just the culmination of years of hard
work in the acquisition of a formal education, but it also marked the graduate‟s entry into
the professional world where he would apply his knowledge.
A fitting finale and a beginning of a new journey...all the very best...

College education acts as the key
to a successful future to
individuals and it provides a
financial security and helps a
person build a remarkable
reputation. I can definitely say this
was my case because of my alma

years that I spent here not only
helped to acquire more and more
knowledge but also helped me to
become a global citizen. From
attending Dale Carnegie sessions
to various STTP‟s, everything has
helped me a lot to increase my
knowledge.
VIT not only provides a
comfortable environment to study
but also a powerful source of
knowledge shared by the faculties
of the college. From learning
Chemistry in Semester I to
learning Distributed Computing in
Semester VIII, the journey has
been smooth and
comprehensive.
Not to forget the important thing
this college gave was bunch of
people with similar ideas with
similar lifestyle with whom we are
going to sail throughout the life
which made it a important part of

Raj Shah, Divya Sonawne, Prathamesh Patle and Deepak
Gound from Third year Engineering devised a system
which is designed in such a manner that the street
lights could reduce their intensity and save as much
energy as possible. These systems use leds (Light
Emitting Diode) instead of HID (High Intensity
Discharge) lamps due to dimming feature. There is also
a time slot allotted during which the intensity of the
system keeps reducing which turns the lights off in
the morning. Reduction of intensity starts gradually at
midnight when it is not much dark and there is not
much traffic and is switched off at 6 in the morning.
