Setting Up a Serial Port Connection
Follow the steps below to set up a serial port connection: 1) Click [Start/Programs/Accessories/Communications/HyperTerminal] to start up

Follow the steps below to configure the serial port connection. 1) Select [File/Properties] in the HyperTerminal to display the “MA5605 Properties”
dialog box. 2) Click on the “Settings” tab and then set “Emulation” as "VT100". 3) Click <ASCII Setup>, and then set the parameters.

Definition
A user here refers to the person who operates and maintains the MA5605 through the CLI.
User management refers to setting of the authority, password, and Telnet permit for a user who logs in to the MA5605.
User authorities
Users are divided into three levels. Authorities vary with the levels. Users can only use onfiguration commands for their own level(s) or lower level(s).
General user
A general user can only check the system information, and use certain commands, such as cls.
Operator
An operator can make some basic system configurations.
Administrator
An administrator can manage the system. The root user is a super administrator, who can add or delete a user.

6.1.3 Traffic Table
The traffic table is the core of traffic management. A traffic table contains such items as: Index

Through traffic items assigned to source and destination ends of a PVC, you can control PVC traffic.
Before setting up a service PVC, make sure that a qualified traffic item exists. If such a traffic item exists, you can specify its index directly to set up the service PVC. If such a traffic item does not exist, you need to add a table item. The index of this table item is assigned by the system.
