Testwell Water & Interface Meters The Testwell range of water level meters, interface meters, reels and tapes, are simply the best choice for 2", 4" and also small diameter well applications. Standard oil/water interface meters produce fast clear readings, unbreakable reels and provide unmatched fi eld performance. Dipmeters (water level indicators) are portable instruments for measuring water levels in wells, standpipes and boreholes.
With several thousand units sold worldwide, Testwell Instruments have a highly respected proven track record. Testwell Instruments have a wide range of available probe diameters ranging from 7, 10, 11 and 16mm. Dipmeters are available in lengths from 10–900+ metres, with diff erent tape options available for more aggressive environments. A variety of options are available including temperature sensors.
Infrared refraction is used to detect liquids and conductivity is used to detect the water. For heavy viscous oils, detect water sensitivity quickly by increasing the external sensitivity control. For high conductivity water (brine) decreasing the sensitivity control prevents bridging so a moist probe is not detected as being in water.
Water Level Meter Probes
Triple-sealed probes do not need to be accessed by the user. Using ‘smart electronics’ the probes will ignore any damage to the optical lens and continue to perform. Similar to a water level meter, the units will produce a solid tone in water and an intermittent light and tone indicates product. This system doubles the battery life and provides better overall performance.
Proven & Rugged Optical Sensor
Two separate sensitivity controls for the water sensing and fl uid sensing circuits allow the user complete control over the performance of the instrument.
Most Accurate Tapes
Designed specifi cally for measuring product and organic solvents and four times more accurate than the commonly found fl at white TV cable-type tapes. These tapes use twisted stainless steel wires that can untwist and lengthen from the weight (2.27kg) of the probe and cable. The fl at spring steel measuring tape of the Testwell units has a breaking strength of 134.72kg and will not stretch (less than .001") with a 15.88kg load. The measuring tape was designed for environmental use and is resistant to all solvents found in the fi eld.

Sludge & Sediment Samplers AMS Sludge Sampler
Split Soil Core Samplers
Are essentially soil core samplers that have
been designed to retain samples from non-
cohesive materials – including: underwater
sediment in shallow lakes, streams, and
various types of impoundments. They can
be used to take undisturbed samples for
geotechnical analysis and are capable of
taking high-quality samples for chemical
analysis.
> Primarily used for shallow sampling,
they can be used up to 10'. in the
right conditions.
> Used with or without liners.
> Very portable and do not require extensive
mobilisation and demobilisation.
Has a vertically split cylinder (cup set) that
allows easy extraction of the soil core from
the liner and prevents breakage of the core.
Use it without a liner to collect undisturbed
cores for immediate fi eld examination and
testing, or it can be used with a liner for
collection of undisturbed, sealed cores.

The fl uropolymer tubing may be used to transfer
the soul gas sample from the sampling point
to the surface. Cut a length to allow for the
maximum sampling depth plus 0.6–0.9m. Attach
one end to the sampling top and pass the other
end through the fi rst set of drive components.
When each GVP extension is driven to just above
the ground surface the drive head adapter is
removed, another GVP extension added, and the
drive head adapter is replaced before driving
again. To open either of the tips, pull back the
GVP extension to expose the tip extraction ports.
A hand vacuum pump, electric vacuum pump,
or electric vacuum station may be attached
to the upper end of the fl uropolymer tube to
extract samples of soil gas and allow them to
be collected in a variety of specifi c procedures.
Alternatively most PID and FID hydrocarbon
detection instruments are provided with a
positive displacement pump that may be directly
connected to the fl uropolymer tube to obtain a
direct reading of hydrocarbon concentration.
The extendable tile probe may be used to check
for underground obstructions. It may also be
useful as a pre-probing tool in non-caving soils,
before installing the probes.
AMS GVP kits may also be used to provide a
conduit for extracting groundwater samples.

Allows the user to easily sample soil gas
vapours at shallow depths for preliminary
testing and is also excellent for shallow
gas vapour sampling in soft, easily
penetrable soils.
> Samples soils to depths of 3.66m
(depending on soil conditions).
> Material: stainless steel.
> Includes: GVP base section, liner rod, GVP
hamper adapter, 3' GVP extension with liner
rod, 10" cross handle, GVP barbed adapter.
