NEW DELHI, June 11:

Law Minister Ravi ShankarPrasad today pitched for a nation-al-level entrance test for "talentinfusion" into the subordinatejudiciary.

But at the same time, he madeit clear that he was not rooting fora national-level judicial serviceon the lines of the all-India serv-ices such as the IndianAdministrative Service andIndian Police Service forappointing judicial officers.

He said the all-India exami-nation would allow the pool oftalented young lawyers whograduate every year from nation-al law universities to be part ofthe subordinate judiciary.

He said serving judicial offi-cers can also appear in theentrance exam which could beconducted by the UPSC.

He was speaking at thelaunch of a website and a mobileapp of the Law Ministry to mon-itor the progress in developmentof judicial infrastructure in realtime using remote sensing tech-nology.

Appointments to the lowerjudiciary in the states are madeby the respective high courtseither directly or through public

service commissions throughstate-level examinations.

The Government has in thepast proposed an all-India judi-cial service to be conducted theUnion Public ServiceCommission. (PTI)

girl has been kidnapped and gangraped by two persons.

As per police sources, a class10th student has been kidnappedby two persons and later took turnsto rape her. The rapists threatenedthe victim of dire consequences ifshe narrated the episode to anyone.

However, the girl musteredcourage and narrated the ordeal toher parents, who lodged complaintwith Pouni Chak Police Postagainst two unknown persons.

The girl has been handed overto family members after conduct-ing medical examination.

Acting over the complaint, acase under FIR Number 208/18under Section 363 and 376 RPChas been registered at DomanaPolice Station and hunt has beenlaunched to nab the rapists.
