MOGADISHU, 19 November 2016 - The Federal Ministry of Finance heldsecond Steering Committee (SC)meeting for the Special Financing Facility forLocalDevelopment(SFF-LD)inMogadishu.SFF-LDprogramaimstosupporttheconstructionandreconstructionofnewanddamaged infrastructure for local service delivery in targeted areas of Somaliaandsupportthedevelopmentofpublicinvestmentmanagementfunctions.H.E MahmoudHayir Ibrahim,MinistryofFinanceDeputyMinistrychaired themeetingsandattendeesincludedrepresentativesfromFederalMemberStatesofSouth-West Sate, Jubaland, HirShabelle, Galmudug and Puntland as well asrepresentativefromtheWorldBank.TheSCmembersareoversightbodytaskedto provide operational guidance including approval of work plans for theprogram, reviewing SFF-LD performance and providing advisory role inadjustmentstoitsmanagementandfutureoperationsinlightoflessonslearnedfromimplementation.HighlightoftheoutcomeofthemeetingincludeapprovaloftheSFF-LDPhaseIIRegions Level of interventions and Endorsement of Operational Manual.Additionally, the newly recruited Regional Project Officerswere introduced tothemembersoftheSCfortheirrespectiveFederalMemberState.SCmembersencouragedintergovernmentalcoordinationandconsensusonhowcrucialinfrastructureworkshouldbeundertakenacrossSomalia.Forfurtherupdatesandinformation,checkouthttp://sff-ld-mof.soand/orrefertoourFacebookpage:SpecialFinancingFacility–SFFContactsinMogadishuEmail:najib@sff-ld-mof.so
