Environmental impact of food

Transportation phase Production

phase

Our research

1) We went to local shops in order to gather information on the origin of the most common food

2) We calculated the distance between the origin and the sale point

3) We calculated the environmental impact in kg of co2 emitted in the transportation process

Fair trade: a responsible choice

Normal trade Fair TradeSupporting a direct relation between the consumer and the producer, fair trade is a responsible choice for two reason:

1) It improves economy of poor countries, supporting the small local producers

2)It minimizes pollution, reducing the number of mediators between the producer and the consumer.
